Adding Google Analytics

IMPORTANT: Depending on how your website developer set up your Modx account, you may not have access to your Modx site templates. If you do not, please ask your website developer to help you implement tracking stats.

  1. Sign up for a free Google Analytics account if you do not already have one.
  2. Locate your tracking code in Google Analytics by following this tutorial.
  3. Log in to your Modx manager.
  4. Click the ELEMENTS tab at the top, then click MANAGE ELEMENTS.
  5. Click the TEMPLATES tab if it's not already selected.
  6. Use the following steps for each Template that exists.
  7. Click on the template name.
  8. Scroll down through the template code until you get to the bottom.
  9. Look for the </body> tag located near the end of the template code.
  10. Paste in your Google Analytics tracking code directly ABOVE the </body> tag.
  11. Click SAVE.
  12. Do this for each template that exists in your Modx manager.
