Using Headings
Headings are a great way to break up content on a page, which makes the page content more "ingestable" for your readers. Anytime you have more than a couple paragraphs on a page, it's probably a good idea to use headings. Here's an example of headings and their respective sizes. Keep in mind, your designer may have styled them a bit differently, but generally speaking, a Heading 1 should be the largest and a Heading 6 should be the smallest or heading of least significance.

To create a heading:
- First type some text into the text editor.
- Then choose the pull down menu located just to the left of the Edit CSS Styles icon (
). It will look like this:
but it may not say Paragraph. - After clicking on the pull down menu, you will be presented with a list of options:
-
- Format
- Paragraph
- Headings 1-6
- Div
- Blockquote
- Code
- Preformatted
- Address
Choose a Heading from this menu, according to the importance of that particular heading on the page. Remember, Heading 1 is used for the most important heading, often the page title. Heading 2 and so on should be used for lesser important headings.
